In 2020, the fifth anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis invited religious congregations across the world to publicly commit to a seven-year journey toward ecological conversion.
A year later, he launched the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, “a program and associated website that equips Catholic institutions, communities, and families to implement Laudato Si’.”
Under the leadership of Superior General Fr. Joachim, our Passionist Congregation has made a seven-year commitment to engage in creating a Passionist Laudato Si’ Action Platform, beginning with participation in the program “Passion of the Earth, Wisdom of the Cross.”
This program, developed in collaboration with the Passionist Solidarity Network, is for the participation of all members of the Passionist Family.
We invite you to engage Laudato Si’ through the following Passionist resources:
“We have to realize that a true ecological approach always becomes a social approach; it must integrate questions of justice in debates on the environment, so as to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.” (LS 49)
Passion of the Earth, Wisdom of the Cross
Passion and the Earth | Wisdom of the Cross is the Passionist program engaging Laudato Si’. It is composed of six sessions released over 12 months.

The Passionist Solidarity Network has a lead role working with others in Holy Cross and St. Paul of the Cross provinces who are deeply engaged with Laudato Si' and integral ecology. U.S. Passionists committed to the Laudato Si' Action Platform on a launch event December 2, 2021. Each provincial will be choosing a Laudato Si' Animator from their respective provinces to help coordinate this work in their ministry sites.
